Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made on behalf of Man with Van Finchley and sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold human rights and to act ethically in everything we do.

Our Business and Values

Man with Van Finchley provides transport and removal services to individual and business customers. While we operate on a relatively small scale, we understand that modern slavery can exist in any sector and at any level of the supply chain. Our values centre on respect, fairness, and integrity, and we expect the same from everyone we work with.

Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery

We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labour, and child labour. This policy applies to our own activities and to everyone who works for or with us, including employees, agency workers, subcontractors, and suppliers. We do not knowingly engage with any organisation that fails to uphold these standards and we reserve the right to terminate relationships where credible concerns are identified and not promptly addressed.

Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain primarily consists of vehicle suppliers, maintenance providers, fuel providers, equipment suppliers, and occasional subcontracted transport partners. We recognise that risks can arise in areas such as vehicle cleaning, warehousing, and outsourced labour. We are committed to improving our understanding of these risks and to working only with suppliers who share our commitment to combating modern slavery.

Supplier Due Diligence and Audits

We conduct proportionate due diligence on new suppliers and subcontractors before entering into or renewing contracts. This may include requesting information about their labour practices, policies on modern slavery, and procedures for monitoring compliance. Where appropriate, we ask suppliers to confirm that they do not use forced labour or engage in human trafficking and that they comply with relevant employment and human rights legislation.

We reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence from suppliers to verify their compliance with our standards. If we identify potential areas of concern, we will seek clarification, request corrective actions, or, where necessary, discontinue the relationship. Our aim is to encourage transparency and continuous improvement, while making it clear that modern slavery will not be tolerated.

Training and Awareness

We promote awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and operational oversight. Employees are reminded of our zero-tolerance policy and the importance of reporting any concerns. As our business grows, we will continue to review and enhance our training materials and guidance to ensure they remain relevant and effective.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

We encourage anyone working for or with Man with Van Finchley to report concerns about potential modern slavery or human trafficking at the earliest opportunity. Concerns may relate to our own operations or to those of our suppliers and subcontractors.

Reports can be made to a manager or senior representative of the business. All reports will be taken seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated where appropriate. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith, and we will take disciplinary or contractual action against anyone found to be involved in modern slavery or to have ignored credible warning signs.

Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement

We are committed to regularly reviewing the effectiveness of the steps we take to prevent modern slavery. This includes monitoring supplier performance, updating our due diligence processes, and reflecting changes in legislation or best practice. We will review this Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement on an annual basis and update it as needed to reflect our ongoing efforts and any new measures adopted.

This statement has been approved by the leadership of Man with Van Finchley and represents our continued commitment to acting ethically, safeguarding human rights, and preventing modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.
